Ben Ferrell

Born in Richmond, Virginia and based out of Brooklyn, New York, Ben Ferrell is a double bassist who's playing and attitude have earned him a space in the NYC jazz scene. 

While attending Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA for his BA and the Tribeca Jazz Institute in Manhattan, NY, for his AD, Ben has developed a skill and composition style that demands attention from his hard work. Studying and performing under greats such as John Toomey, Grant Stewart, Christopher White, Ari Roland, David Wong, Pasquale Grasso, Bruce Harris, Kenny Washington, Cecil McBee, etc., Ben strives to honor the traditions of jazz before him while bringing a modern energy to his compositions and feel. His influences are all across the jazz spectrum (bebop to free jazz) and as well as outside of jazz (ambient, musique concrète).
